Seminar on South Asia Security Dynamics

ISM_en_redOn February 18th 2013, in room 4 at Nowy Świat 67 in Warsaw, a seminar on South Asia Security Dynamics took place. It was organized by the IIR, CCIRS IIR and Student's Interest Group "India Now". The guests of the seminar were:

  • dr. Vinod Kumar (Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses, New Delhi),
  • dr. Siegfried O. Wolf (Directorof Research, South Asia Democratic Forum, Brussels; and Lecturer in International and Comparative Politics, South Asia Institute, Heidelberg University),
  • Mr Krzysztof Iwanek (Poland-Asia Studies Centre). 

logo_Teraz_IndieThe seminar was moderated by dr. Jakub Zajączkowski (CCIRS IIR). Guests' speeches were focused on a broadly defined issue of security in South Asia and its dynamics. Dr. Kumar presented the topic of Nuclear Weapons in the South Asian security dynamics, dr. Wolf spoke about Pakistan-Afghanistan-India relations in South Asiasecurity complex and Mr. Krzysztof Iwanek gave a speech on A World Power Test: India's Attitude towards the Afghanistan War. Closing remarks were given by dr. Bogusław Zaleski (Institute of InternationalRelations). After the seminar a discussion with the audience took place, along with a Q&A session.
