Study visit to India 9-17 September 2012

Form 9th till 17th September delegation from Institute of International Relations and Centre for Contemporary India Research and Studies IIR University of Warsaw: dr Hanna Schreiber and dr BoguslawZaleski visited India. During their stay they visited:
• New Delhi:
1) Jawaharlal Nehru University
2) Jamia Milia Islamia
3) University of Delhi
4) St. Stephens College


• Trivandrum:
1) University of Kerala


Dr Hanna Schreiber and dr Boguslaw Zaleski took part in seminars coorganized with Indian partners:
• 10th September – discussion panel co-organized with Sri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi (dr Bogusław Zaleski: The Role of Institute of IR in Polish Higher Education)
• 10th – roundtable with Developing Countries Research Centre, University of Delhi
• 11th September - seminar co-organized with Centre for European Studies Jawaharlal Nehru University: The European Union at the crossroads( dr Bogusław Zaleski: Political Challenges confronting the European Union, Dr Hanna Schreiber: Cultural Turn in West European Military Affairs)
• 11th September - seminar co-organized with Jamia Milia Islamia Understanding Poland's Role in Contemporary Europe (Dr Bogusław Zaleski: Economic and Political Transformation of Poland, Dr Hanna Schreiber: Cultural turn in military affairs - Polish Experience)
• 13th September - seminar co-organized with Department of Politics University of Kerala: Evolution of India-EU relations: Indian and Polish perspectives (Dr Bogusław Zaleski: Evolution of EU-India Relations: Political Dimension, Dr Hanna Schreiber: The Power of Culture - comparative glance on Europe and India)

During their visit to India delegates signed Memorandum of Understanding with:
• University of Kerala
Students and faculties from January/February 2013 will be able to go for exchange program to University of Kerala.


Delegates also discussed possibilities of signing MoU with:
• University of Delhi
• Sri Ram College
• Jamia Millia Islamia
• St. Stephens College

Dr Schreiber and dr Zaleski discussed with Polish Ambassador Professor Piotr Kłodkowski Polish Embassy deeper involvement and cooperation on the oncoming programmes which will be proposed by the Institute of International Relations for Indian partners. Ambassador Professor Piotr Kłodkowski declared his willingness to enhance the cooperation with IIR in fulfilling the proposed projects.

Dr Schreiber and dr Zaleski met also with students from Institute of International Relations whom are currently studying at Jawaharlal Nehru University.
The representative of the IIR were also interviewed by the journalists and the results of their visit were published in leading Indian newspapers:

It is worth stressing that the visit was substantially supported financially and organizationally by Polish Embassy, Polish Consulate and Polish Cultural Centre in Delhi and the both representatives of the Institute of International Relation are thankful for this help. They also express their gratitude for the hospitality and commitment with which they met in all Indian universities and institutions, especially at the University of Kerala, Department of Political Science.
